Some days the pain is bad and the vision worse. If I fell asleep on the implant side, or if I forgot to grease its gears before bed, I will wake up to a day of fumbling around half-blind and a painkillers cocktail. It’s hard to believe that only a few months ago, life seemed more normal. The silent routine at the space station from only a few months ago now seems like a distant memory, almost nostalgic when I see it through… this damned implant. I guess I will eventually get used to it… or to the painkiller cocktail.
