A Twisted glitch

Another season, another Twisted Hunt, again hopping from sim to sim with Zero and Chanty, as it has become our bi-yearly tradition. Together we sail through waves of unconceivably cruel, hardly visible Lament cubes, exchanging curses until one of us exclaims “GOT IT!” with victorious voice.

As always, it’s a great occasion to see stores that we didn’t know, as well as visiting our old times favorites. We laughed at the amazing wit of the Twisted Merchants and their naughty, naughty “talking” cubes, we enjoyed the creative side hunts and side quests.

Today, almost a week after the hunt ended, we tackled the infamous End Game.

Because it’s still open for a couple more days, there will be NO spoilery content, let me just say that it keeps to the Cyberpunk theme of the hunt, and that, as always, it was wonderfully built, and full of clever riddles, infuriating obstacles, and loads and loads of fun. Massive thanks to everyone in the team who participated in making this for us.

Arualblues, a princess

I’m very happy to present to you the new Princess Arualblues collection from Zuri Jewelry. I am honored and touched that Zuri has given my name to this gorgeous creation, which fits so well with my love for medieval/fantasy dress-up in Second Life.

 

Five years ago, I became Zuri’s customer, later group member, then store model, flirted with management, and finally settled in my current role as her official blog fiddler. But the best thing about working with Zuri was knowing her. Zuri has been to me a dear pal, a caring mom, a nervous boss, a generous friend… Ours is a friendship forged through long talks, work stress, occasional scuffles, shared laughter, tears on each others’ shoulders, and we’re still here, and for this and everything else, thank you.

The collection will come very soon to the store in various beautiful colors, and matching crowns will also be available. I model a special edition in cobalt blue, my favorite.

Then and now #SecondLifeChallenge

Oh, what a ride this was since that September evening back in 2011, my first year in Germany, when this guy I was dating recommended me to join Second life. My virtual début had an important advantage: a seasoned “insider” who didn’t want his girl looking like a noob, and his wonderful friend Ms. T, who was incredibly generous and patient, and took me shopping to all her favorite places, all of the goodness of her heart, because I was her buddy’s girl.

In all these years, I’ve been a zombie hunter, a medieval tavern wench, a jewelry model, and a hilarious array of goddesses, demons, mythological creatures, historical ladies, and more. And that guy who first guided me down this mesmerizing rabbit hole is now my partner, my lover, and my husband, in all my lives.

I haven’t kept many photos of my avatar from before 2014, but I always kept this one, taken when I was only 2 months old back in November 2011. I chose to recreate that one, one of the first looks I put together trying to mimic my RL overall look and style. I still own some of the stuff that I’m wearing in that first photo. I never had the heart to get rid of them, like the hoarder that I am, so I will include the credits!

Years later, just as it happened in RL, I became paler because my skin misses the tropical sun, and I lounge by a fireplace because I’m always kinda cold here… I also visibly gained some weight (blame all those delicious German pastries!), and I added my cute little wedding band, and strong nail polish, another hobby that I picked up here in Berlin.

After being so many different versions of me, so many different creatures and dreams, I came back to the me that reminds most of the real me… Thank you, Second Life, for all these years of adventure and entertainment. Thank you, my dear virtual friends, and the ones who also became real through hours of chat, shared laughter and tears. Thank you, my love, Zero Upshaw, for showing me this world and inviting me to live this fantasy with you.
